Ruby Christine Burian

Born in Lloydminster, Alberta, on November 24, 1942, Tina was the youngest of 12 children born to Ruby and Joseph Almond. In 1955, her family moved to Kelowna, British Columbia—the city that would become her lifelong home. It was in Kelowna where she met the love of her life, Alfred Burian, whom she married in 1963.

Tina served her local community for many years in the Human Resources department for the City of Kelowna until her retirement in 1997. Following their retirements, Tina and Al cherished spending 15 warm winters together in Yuma, Arizona, making lasting memories and lifelong friends.

At home, Tina was a true garden enthusiast. She poured her heart into her flowers, cultivating a backyard so vibrant and meticulous it felt like a private park. Above all, she adored her family, and the 50 years of joy she had at the family cabin. She brought endless joy, color, and affection to her family's lives, earning her the affectionate nickname "Lipstick Gramma" from her grandchildren—a title she wore with pride.

Tina was predeceased by her parents, Ruby and Joseph Almond, as well as 9 of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Alfred Burian; her children, Kim Burian (Nicole Carlos) and Kelly Burian (Karen Guy); her three granddaughters, Christina Evans (Cameron), Brittany Spencer (Cody), and Ashley Gravel (Jake); and her five great-grandchildren, Paige, Cole, Navy, Remi, and Rhys.

A Celebration of Life and graveside urn burial will be held on May 15, 2027, when the spring flowers she loved so dearly are in full bloom.
