Ms. Ruth Maxwell

Maxwell : Ruth was born on November 15th, 1925 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Her early years were spent on the family farm in Eureka, North Dakota. Her family moved to California in the mid 1930s. After high school, she trained and worked as a dental hygienist. For sixty-three years Ruth enjoyed the fellowship of her sorority sisters in Beta Sigma Phi. In 1964, Ruth immigrated to Canada with her husband and children. As a child, Ruth accepted Christ as her personal savior beginning a life-long spiritual journey during which she actively participated in a number of church ministries, particularly children’s ministries. She was married to Bryson Maxwell from Dec 19th, 1959 until his passing on Jan 29, 2005. Ruth exchanged marital vows with Tom Rose on Aug 20th, 2006. Tom predeceased Ruth in March of 2010. Ruth is survived by her children: Jeanne (Sterling), Rene, Kim, Bill (Kathrin), and grandchildren Steven, Lily, and Woody. She will be deeply missed by family and friends who will always cherish her personal warmth, tender spirit, and easy laughter. Ruth went to meet her Lord on December 6th, 2010. A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 11th, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna.
