Santo Scarpino

SCARPINO: Santo. It is with great sadness that the family of Santo Scarpino announce his passing on October 20th, 2021.

Santo was predeceased a year ago by his wife of 58 years, Dora. He is survived by his sons Carmelo (Veronica), John (Suzanne), Lawrence (Lisa) and grandchildren; Eric, Talia, Aaron (Desiree), Samantha and Callista (Joey); as well as his brothers Armando (Fernanda), Ugo (Teresa) and his sister Nella plus many nieces and nephews.

Born in Scigliano, Cosenza, Italy on December 7th, 1937, Santo immigrated to Canada in 1962 settling in Shelley, BC where he found work in the local sawmill. Santo and Dora started their family while living in Shelley and eventually moved to Prince George where Santo worked for Lakeland Mills as a heavy-duty mechanic until his retirement in 1998. Santo and Dora moved to Kelowna in 1999 to be closer to their family. Santo took great pride in his home and in his garden. He was a jack of all trades and could build or fix anything and loved to spend time helping his friends and family with their various projects.

Funeral Service to be held at 1:00pm on Saturday October 30th, 2021 at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue in Kelowna. Proof of Vaccination required and COVID protocols in effect.

Interment to follow at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

To the Scarpino families
You have a reason to be sad about by the loss of a very kind, humble and generous person as Santo. He was there to help me with any mechanical challenge with his talent. He sincere smile welcomed me also with an Italian espresso prepared by his loving wife Dora. His memories live for ever for which you will honoured having treasured a wonderful, father, grandfather and ss friend.

To all the Scarpino Families

We are sadden to hear the passing of Santo. We will forever miss him. Santo was a very kind individual for he was always there to give a helping hand and always available whenever you would call him. His humble demeanor and his warm heart will never be forgotten. I was so grateful and fortunate to have had the the opportunity to assist him.
May the pain you feel now be nothing compared to joy found within the memories of Santo. We can't express how much we loved and cherished him. Our deepest condolences for your loss.
