Stacey Lynne Lamirand

Stacey was torn from us on July 31st, 2026 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She began her fight knowing glioblastoma to be the most formidable foe but fought with bravery and humour nonetheless. In the 27 months since diagnosis she was able to watch her son marry, her grandsons grow, walk the Camino Frances, go on an African safari, walk the streets of Old Montreal, and celebrate amongst friends and family at Christmases, birthdays, parties, and events of all kinds. She was awash in love.

Stacey grew up on the Ridge in Surrey, BC, with her two brothers and loving parents Bill and Joyce Quakenbush before marrying her best friend at 20 years old. Two years later she gave birth to her daughter and began university. Five years later her son was born and soon after she completed her undergraduate degree and followed her husband into teaching. At 33 she and husband began more than a decade of domestic and international teaching including Muscat, Oman; Hsinchu, Taiwan; Bucharest, Romania and Jakarta, Indonesia. At 40 she received her Master's Degree in Education. Having lived in Surrey, Salt Spring Island and Kelowna. She and husband retired from teaching to create and run the food truck Mystic Pizza.

Stacey is survived by her husband of 38 years Rodney Lamirand, her father William Quakenbush, her brothers Blair and Drew Quakenbush, her daughter Kirsten Hammer, her son Spencer Lamirfield, her son-in-law Wesley Hammer, her daughter-in-law Veronica Lamirfield, her nephews and nieces Kelsa, Dylan, Kade, Scarlett, Remington, grandsons Freddie and Leo and friends Malcolm and April, Sue and Terry, Gaye and Mike, and countless others.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2027.
