Born to Roy Seymour and Jean (née Brown), Stu was raised on a family farm just outside of the city limits in NE Calgary, Alberta.
Stu graduated from Western Canada High School, moving on to gain employment success by partnering in a Printing Press company. After which he was offered a position at Pacific 66, which later lead to management opportunities at Petro Canada.
Stu married Janice Alberta Bastian on June 4, 1960, and together they shared just shy of 66 years together, building a foundation of love, constancy and faithfulness. Stu and Jan enjoyed their retirement years in sunny Kelowna, BC, where they played golf, camped, travelled, and gardened. Stu’s passion for building and flying RC airplanes inspired his creativity and love of community. He spent many hours with the Vernon RC Aeromodelers, and travelled to different RC fly-in events in BC and Alberta.
Stuart is survived by his wife Janice, his children Beverley, and James (Christine), and five grandchildren, Aaron (Krissy), Jaeden, Emilea, Teagan, and Clayton (Emily), as well as 4 great grandchildren. Stu is also survived by his brother, Harley (Wendy).
Stu was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Jean (née Brown) Seymour, and his brother Don.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 12, 2026, from 11–2:30 pm, at The Roundhouse Golf Club and Holiday Park, 415 Commonwealth Rd, Kelowna, BC. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Stu’s life.
