Vera Gertrude O'Brien

Vera provided a strong, loving leadership for her family, and taught the value of loyalty and independence. Vera put her husband and family first in everything and sacrificed a great deal for their success and well being. She enjoyed camping, road trips and good food, and loved to have her family around her. Vera died peacefully in her sleep after many struggles with heart, lung and kidney disease. She will leave a huge hole in all of our lives.

Vera was pre-deceased by sons, John Albert and Kevin. She was the mother of seven children and is survived by her loyal husband of 64 years, John. She also leaves behind her son, John, and his wife Meg, of Kelowna, BC, daughter, Brenda, of Red Deer, Alberta, son, Michael and his wife Jackie, of Edmonton, Alberta, son Robert and his wife Janice, of Round Rock, Texas, and daughter, Vera-Lynn, of Whitby, Ontario.

Vera will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Daniel, Sean, Katie, Keena, Christin, Mathew and Noah, and great grandchild, Ayzlin, who always put a smile on her face.

Vera, you will be forever in our hearts until we meet again.

A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC. Interment to take place at the Catholic Cemetery on Casorso road and reception to follow at the ICC Hall .
