

A long time resident of Kelowna passed away in Kelowna General Hospital on April 29th, 1999 at the age of 89 years. He is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Muriel; daughters: Norine Goulet, Keewatin, Ontario, Enid (DanBastien), North Bay, Ontario, Kaye-Marie Yuckin, Oliver and Faith (Bill Butticci) Kelowna; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters; Mary (Howard Robinson), Port Alberni and Faith Hall, Armstrong; brother George (Belva), Grenfell Saskatchewan and sisters-in-law Betty Hubbard, Grenfell, Saskatchewan, Lucy Albertin, White Rock, and Winnie Groome, Kelliher, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by daughter Beryl Lucy and son Robbie, sons-in-law Maurice Goulet and Eddie Yuckin, brothers John and Tommy and sisters Edith, Kate and Hope. Mr. Hubbard was an active member of Orchard City Odd Fellows Lodge No. 59, Kelowna, Rebekah Lodge No. 36, Silver Star Encampment, L.E.A. and Patriarchs Militant Lodges and was Past Grand Master of B.C. Grand Lodge. For many years he was on the Board of Directors of Three Links Manor and The Birches and was an active Board member of Abbeyfield. His outstanding and dedicated service earned him the Declaration of Chivalry from Sovereign Grand Lodge Odd Fellows and a Humanitarian Award from the Rosicrucian Order. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, 3131 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, followed by interment in Kelowna City Cemetery, Reverend Wayne Laurie officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Valleyview Funeral Home 765-3147.
