Mrs. Carol Jean Whitman

Carol “Jean” Whitman (nee Brachvogel), 80, passed away on November 29, 2014, at the home of her son, Jeff, and daughter-in-law-, Linda, where she had lived since the passing of her husband of 58 years, Jim Whitman, in early October 2014. Jean was born and grew up in Redfield, South Dakota. She met Jim when he was building a church in Redfield and they were married in July, 1956. Jean and Jim lived in many places across the United States as Jim worked in the construction and trucking trades. In 2004, upon retirement, they moved to New Underwood, SD, to be near their youngest daughter, Becky (Les) and grandchildren. She is survived by her four children Jeff (Linda) Whitman, Kemp, TX, Terri Nelson, St. Paul, MN, Doug (Ben)Whitman, New York, NY, Becky (Les) Heinrich, Caputa, SD; four grandchildren, Drew (Nichole) Nelson, Laura Nelson, Catherine and Christian Heinrich; and many loving nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. No service is planned at this time.
