

Clyde was born on December 1, 1937 in Kemp, TX to parents James Franklin Morton and Mable Moore and entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2015 at the age of 77. Clyde was known as “Bop” by his grandchildren. He loved his family; especially his wife of 57 years and his two girls. Clyde enjoyed being outdoors; going hunting with his brother and nephews, mowing, plowing and working in the garden. He loved watching westerns and visiting with friends and family. Clyde enjoyed agitating and making fun. He served in our military; The United States Army. Clyde was a truck driver for almost 50 years and during that time received numerous safe driver awards. He worked with Teamsters Local #745, for over 25 years. Clyde served as Mayor of Kemp for 2 terms; 1980-1986 and 1 term as City Councilman in Kemp. He was a good, strong man that worked hard and provided for his family. Clyde was a Christian man, who was very loving and caring. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; J.D. Morton and Paul Morton and sisters; Mary McGowan and Dovie Roberts.
He is survived by his loving wife Alice Morton of Kemp, daughter Diana Haley and husband Grady of Kemp and Tracie Hughes and husband Dodey of Kemp, grandchildren; Mason, Peyton, Collin, Jenna and Tatum, 1 great-grandchild on the way, brother Joel Morton and wife Ellen of Kemp, numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many more friends.
