Dorothy was born January 10, 1927 in Rochester, Texas to parents J. B. and Lera (Moore) Floyd and entered into eternal rest on July 14, 2018 at the age of 91. Dorothy graduated from Kemp High School, attended Austin College, East Texas State – Commerce and TWU then began a career teaching that spanned 33 years. On June 3, 1946 she and James Bonds eloped to Oklahoma to begin their life together. She was a very well-traveled lady. She traveled all over the U.S also Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, England, Italy, Russia and Jordan. Dorothy dearly loved her family, friends, grandkids and great-grandkids. Shopping was one of her favorite things to do especially before social events that she loved to dress up for. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and Plano New Comers Club. Dorothy was an exceptional person that will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband James Bonds of Kemp, brother Leighton Floyd and sister Diana Khorsheed.
She is survived by son Johnny Bonds and wife Sheri of Mount Ida, Arkansas, daughter Judy Bonds Hussey and husband Dr. Jim Hussey of Plano, daughter Jana Bonds and Robert Goswell of Austin, granddaughter Stacey LaBauve and Brad of Cypress, Texas, grandson J. Aaron Bonds and Michelle of Madison, Wisconsin, granddaughter Jennifer Bourland and Jared of Plano, great-grandchildren Darby, Braden, Matthew and Gregory, other loving family members and many more friends.
