Joel Aaron Franklin was born November 28, 1936 in Mississippi to parents Harvey Lee and Ida Franklin and entered into eternal rest on July 15, 2017 at the age of 80. Joel attended Kemp Church of Christ and enjoyed watching TV. He was a loving, caring man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joel was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; Charles Franklin, and Joel Franklin Jr., four sisters and seven brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Alice Faye, son and wife Kevin Franklin and Juanita of Kemp, granddaughters; Wanda Franklin of Kemp and April Franklin of Payne Springs, grandsons; Kevin Franklin and wife Jerrie of Norfolk, Virginia and Kyle Franklin of Dallas, great-grandson Justice Lee Smith, brother H. L. Franklin of Seagoville, other family members and many more friends.
