Ada Lee English Odum, age 81, a former resident of Mableton, Ga, died January 25, 2013 after a long and courageous 11 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Sunday at Winkenhofer Funeral Home, Kennesaw, Ga with family receiving visitors from 12:00 -1:00 pm and following interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Douglasville, Ga. Pastor Jason Odum will be officiating.
A native of Early County, Mrs. Odum was born August 2, 1931 to the late Marion Tom English and Winnes Hilton English. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for various companies and banks. She was a former member of Glen Forest Baptist Church. She loved her Savior and her family with a devoted and steadfast passion. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Samuel Watson Odum Sr., and her sisters Virginia Cleveland and Sylvia English.
Her survivors include her son Sammy and Lesia Odum of Kennesaw, Ga, and daughter Cathy and Frank Ludwig of Olive Branch, MS. There are 4 grandchildren Brannon and Beth Odum of Smyrna, Ga, Jason and Gabby Odum of Sugar Hill, Ga, Brooke Jones of Roswell, Ga. and Alston and Lauren Ludwig of Asheville, NC. And there are 2 great grandchildren Ty and Zoe Odum of Sugar Hill, Ga. She is also survived by her siblings Buddy, Bill, Ronnie, and Judy English of Blakely, Ga and Betty Green of Columbia, Al.
