Andy Marie Thomsen of Acworth, Georgia born August 15, 2022 went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday September 29, 2022 after showing that God’s perfect love can come in the smallest of packages. Making her highly anticipated delivery at only 26 weeks, weighing a mere 1lb 1 oz, Andy showed what a tiny but mighty warrior she was, achieving so many milestones in her brief 6 weeks and 2 days on this earth.
Andy was the treasured daughter of Jacob & Courtney (Standiford) Thomsen also of Acworth, Georgia.
Among those mourning her loss are: maternal grandparents Brian & Gigi Standiford of Bolivar Ohio, paternal grandparents Lynn & Amy Thomsen of Roswell Georgia, maternal great grandparents Patricia Donaldson of Dover, OH, Dick and Jaclyn Standiford of Beckly WV, and Flo Grimes of New Philadelphia, OH, paternal great grandparents Donald & Frances Johnson of Moline IL, and Gailyn & Barbara Thomsen of Bloomington, IL. Her Uncle Chase & Aunt Emily Brown of Roswell, Georgia, her Uncle Jonathon & Aunt Lise Baker of Sugarcreek, OH, her Uncle Shawn & Aunt Kara Ball of Malvern, OH, her Aunt Kellie Baker of Bolivar, OH her Uncle Alex & Aunt Katie Standiford. Cousins, Shawn PM Ball, of Canton, OH, Jalynn Ball of Akron, Ohio, Colton Fender, of Dover, OH, Noah, Kenna & Owen Ball of Malvern, OH, Gannon Baker of Sugarcreek, OH, Gwyneth, Louisa & Lisette Brown of Roswell, GA, Bennett and Devin Standiford, as well as several great aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
During her time here on Earth Andy enjoyed when daddy would hum Amazing Grace or when mommy would read to her, a favorite book was God Believes in You. She absolutely loved tummy time and any time she was able to get lots of snuggles and kangaroo care with mommy and daddy (and they loved these precious moments too!) There was no questioning her feistiness and inquisitive personality as she would give the NICU nurses and respiratory therapists a run for their money when she would constantly try to pull at her breathing tube (luckily never successful with that task!) but she did achieve pulling out her feeding tube on more than one occasion. Her strong willed nature easily won over everyone’s hearts. A beautiful combination of both her parents, she was blessed with the most precious little button nose that everyone agreed she had inherited from her daddy, she had perfect blonde hair and the most gorgeous eyes. Those eyes made her mommy melt every time she pulled the cover of her isolette back in the mornings, and Andy would look up at her with those big bright eyes. And to think now those same beautiful eyes are gazing upon the face of Jesus. Andy Marie you have proven there is no foot too small to leave an imprint on this world.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday October 4th, at Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church at 10:30 am with pastor Kevin Elseroad officiating. A luncheon will follow for family and friends.
Jacob and Courtney would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the NICU at Kennestone with a special thank you going out to Dr. Evans & Veolanki and countless nurses, too many to name. They will forever be grateful for the care, compassion, love and support you provided to Andy as well as them.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a memorial contribution be made in Andy’s honor to the March of Dimes.
