Barbara's life was a journey of courage and adaptability, having been married to two devoted US Army servicemen, Luis Cruz Jimenez and Roberto Ramos, both of whom preceded her in death. Her first husband, Luis, was tragically killed in Central America, and she later found love and companionship with Roberto. As a dedicated military spouse, Barbara embraced the challenges and opportunities of moving frequently, both across the United States and overseas, enriching her life with diverse experiences. Her heart, however, was always rooted in her family. She was a nurturing and supportive mother to her four children—Michael Jimenez, Gina Callicotte, Sherrie Ricker, and Elaina Lester—who all grew to be successful in their own right, a testament to her unwavering support and love.
Barbara's entrepreneurial spirit was evident early in her life. She found her calling in real estate, earning her license in both Washington State and South Carolina. Her keen eye for opportunity led her to own and manage an apartment complex and later to develop a small subdivision in her hometown. Her passion for creating and nurturing extended to her love of gardening, where she spent countless hours tending to her garden, finding solace and joy until her health no longer allowed.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Kennesaw, Georgia, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A catered Visitation for family and friends to gather will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until service begins. Her family invites all who knew her to come together to honor a life well-lived and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of those she touched.
Barbara's journey was one of resilience, love, and success, leaving an indelible mark on her family and friends. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her, a gentle reminder of the strength and grace with which she lived her life.
