Bobby "B.J." Jean Smith, age 78, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. B.J. was born June 2, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia to Thelma Campbell Smith and Terrell J. Smith. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was a faithful member of Mars Hill Presbyterian Church in Acworth. He retired from the Atlanta Police Department as well as the Bank of America. B.J. was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and dog, Zeus. He also enjoyed an occasional trip to Biloxi, MS.
B.J. is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Sandra J. Hampton; daughter, Kimberly Oakley and her spouse Troy of Moreland, Georgia; his daughter, Kristie Smith and partner Shannon; sister in law, Denise Hampton and her husband Tom; his brothers, Harold Smith (Bonnie), Lester Smith (Kathy) and his sister, Lola Morris; grandchildren Ethan Oakley and Kelsey Shea; a great grandchild, Caroline Shea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
B.J. was preceded in death by his father Terrell J. Smith and his mother Thelma Campbell Smith; his brothers, Terrell Smith, Jr. and Floyd Campbell; as well as his sister, Helen Echols.
