

Carolyn Jordan Cunningham, 81 years of age, from Kennesaw, GA died peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2016, after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s disease, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Cunningham was born the oldest child of six in Knoxville, TN, to Lawrence and Emma Jordan. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother and was a long term member of the Circle at the United Methodist Church of Kennesaw. Carolyn was a voracious reader and enjoyed entertaining family at her home on every holiday. She was preceded in death by 54 days by her late husband of 60 years, Wayne B. Cunningham of Kennesaw, GA; Sister Doris Jean Butner of Alcoa, TN. She is survived by her son, David Wayne Cunningham and his wife Jennifer Richardson Cunningham of Kennesaw, GA, Daughter, Karyn Cunningham Donahue and husband, Paul Donald Donahue of Marietta, GA Granddaughters, Kara Cunningham and Leah Cunningham Cox and husband, Justin Cox of Kennesaw, GA and Grandson, Kyle Jordan Donahue of Boulder, CO; and Great Granddaughter, Kaylee Lynn Cox; Brothers, Lawrence Jordan of Knoxville, TN, John Jordan of Woodstock, GA and Fred Palmer of Brunswick, GA; and Sister, Midge Buchheit of Woodstock, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 23, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the memorial service to celebrate her life to follow immediately at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home at 2950 Cobb Pkwy NW, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
