

Charles Roland Mincey, Sr., age 84, of Dallas, GA passed away on Thursday April 7, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11 from the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home at 2pm. Reverend Bill Brannon of Riverdale, Georgia will be officiating the service.
Mr. Mincey was an avid racer. He raced cars from 1948-1981 at tracks all around the Southeast including Dixie and Rome Speedways. Charles retired from Day’s Chevrolet at age 73. He enjoyed reunions with his race buddies. He was very proud of the 1939, two-door Ford sedan he restored with his grandsons. Mr. Mincey was the owner of Mincey Paint & Body Shop in Atlanta, a business his father Roy had started. He was also the member of the Georgia Automobile Racing Hall of Fame Association. He was inducted into the Association’s Hall of Fame in 2004 honoring his race car career. He liked to pass time working in his yard and garden as well. Mr. Mincey had a good sense of humor and his favorite show was Sanford & Son.
Charles became a very spiritual man after receiving Christ in the 1970’s while attending a Revival which his father-in-law was preaching. Thereafter he and Carolyn became members of Milford Church of God in Marietta.
Charles Mincey is survived by his lovely wife of 64 years, Carolyn Mincey; Sons, Kenneth (Charlene) Mincey and Chuck (Linda) Mincey; Sisters, JoAnn Travers and Donna Cameron; one granddaughter, Chrissy; three great grandchildren; three grandsons Landon, Charlie, and Branson (Madison).
Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, April 10 from 4-8pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA.
