Charles Frederick Sawyer, age 86, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Charles was born May 24, 1935 in Fulton, Kentucky. Celebration of Life and Memorial Service is Thursday, November 18th, 2pm at Kennesaw United Methodist Church.
Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gail Sawyer; sons Steve Sawyer (Ginger) and Scott Sawyer (Catherine); his brother Leroy Sawyer (Sue); his grandchildren Shannon, Haley, Lindsey, and Jack, and his great grandchildren Savannah and Micah. He is also survived by his nieces Tina and Tracey. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ruby Sawyer.
After graduating from Fulton High School, Charles went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Murray State University. His working career was spent in telecommunications and he had retired from ITT Telecommunication as their Financial Officer. In his spare time, Charles was an avid golfer who had scored the elusive whole in one twice. He and Gail also enjoyed bass fishing together when the opportunity arose. A man of faith, Charles was a member of Kennesaw United Methodist Church.
