Ann Wills, 82, a lifelong citizen of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on April 20, 2026. Born May 22, 1943, in Acworth, Ann was the daughter of Ray A Payne Sr. and Nealie Evans Payne. Throughout her life, she was known for a steadfast work ethic, unwavering loyalty to those she loved, and a faith that guided her days with quiet strength.
Ann retired as a spinner from Coats & Clark Thread Mill after 21 years of dedicated service—work she approached with consistency, pride, and the kind of dependability others came to trust.
In her younger years, Ann married Gene W. Jordan; they were married for 14 years until his passing. She later remarried James "Buddy" Wills, and together they enjoyed a simple life surrounded by family. After James passed, Ann married David Watson, and they spent their later years together until his passing last Christmas.
A faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Ann lived with enduring devotion—to her family, to her community, and to the values she held close. She especially loved square dancing, and she treasured time with the people who mattered most to her. Her two daughters meant the world to her, and her love extended warmly to her grandchildren, her seven great-grandchildren, and the many nieces and nephews who were part of her life. She also cherished time with her stepson, Daron Watson, and his wife, Stephanie, sharing in the everyday moments that made a home.
Ann was preceded in death by her husbands, Gene W. Jordan, James E. Wills, and David Watson; by her brother, Ray Payne Jr.; and by her sister, Pauline Jordan.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Grizzle and Sandy Hartman (Terry); her stepson, Daron Watson (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Jeremy Grizzle (Stacia), Justin Brown, Seth Brown (Meagan), and Thomas Grizzle (Lesley); along with seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on April 24, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Viewing will be held on April 25, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by A Celebration of Life on April 25, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
