Elizabeth Kelley, 101 years old.

Elizabeth “Babe” Kelley, after persevering 101 years, went to sleep on July 25, 2020, at Woodland Ridge. Elizabeth was born February 13, 1919 in the mining town of Mascot, TN, to the late Clara and Benjamin Tatum. She married the late William Arnold Kelley in February 1939. Elizabeth and her husband resided in the Smyrna area over fifty years. Elizabeth was a Baptist, pursuing bible studies even in her eighties. Elizabeth often times recounted memories of growing up in a boarding house her parents ran for the American Zinc Company. Elizabeth had a lifelong zest for life, enjoying the company of her family and friends. She liked listening to music, whether big band/ swing music, southern gospel, or Dixieland jazz; watching birds; and eating anything chocolate. Like her mother before her she was an excellent cook, blessing her family as a homemaker with many treats, whether entrée, side dish, or dessert, plus all manner of candies. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William Arnold Kelly in 2003; one older sister, Imogene Miller and two younger sisters and one younger brother, Louise Jennings, Dorothy Bohler and Benjamin Tatum. She leaves lasting memories for her children and extended family members; sons, William Kelley of Marietta, GA and Gerald Kelley of Powder Springs, GA, daughter Patricia (Ronald) Holder of Douglasville, GA; four grandchildren, Kim (Mike) Cabrera of Woodstock, GA, Hope (David) Price of Dallas, GA, Julie (Dave) Loesh of Dallas, GA, and Damon (Emily Johnson) Kelley of Sweet Water, TN, seven great grandchildren, and six great, great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at Georgia Memorial Funeral Home, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, GA with Judd Henley officiating, followed by internment in the Georgia Memorial park Cemetery onsite. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
