Early in her life, Elizabeth met Dennis Southern. On September 2, 1955 they became married for the next sixty-one years until his passing on June 15, 2017. Their mission in life was to share the love of Jesus Christ and to minister to others. They enjoyed traveling, going on cruises and spending quality time with family.
Throughout her life, she worked for AT&T/Lucent Technologies for over thirty years and retired in 1999. Elizabeth enjoyed reading books and watching television shows based around mystery novels. She also loved being the host and cooking for holidays and celebrations.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Southern and her son, Dennis L. Southern. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Southern; sisters, Genita (Roy) Seay and Dorinda (Mark) Studebaker; grandchildren, Ansley Seay and Bailey Melsen; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
A funeral service to honor Elizabeth Southern will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at ten thirty in the morning at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 between six and eight in the evening and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. She will be laid to rest following the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
