Emilie LaFontant

During a lengthy illness, she never lost her faith in the Lord. She was called home on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Emilie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, devoted friend and neighbor to all who knew her. She never said "no" to anyone who asked for her help. She had a big heart. Always doing for and thinking of others, even until the Lord called her home.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Ms. Marianna Zephir; father, Mr. Emile LaFontant; brother, Christian; and her son, Jean Michel. She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her daughter, Mrs. Micheline Charles; her grandchildren, Vladymir, Viona and McKinley; her great-grandchildren, Marcellis, Temaya, Jean, Kieran, Kyra and Emmanuel; sister, Mrs. Yvonne Simonis; niece, Mrs. Micheline Regnier and her children; nephew, Dr. Joseph Nirvel Nicaisse

and his children; cousins, Mrs. Emma Rabel and her children, and Mrs. Nirva Charles and her children; in laws, Mr. Lionel Charles, Mr. Mano Valentin and Mrs. Margalie Jean-Pierre; and the best of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

A Wake will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the funeral home's chapel with Father Junot Nelvy officiating. Entombment will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.

The family invites everyone to join them for a repass at the Pine Ridge Event Center following Mrs. LaFontant being laid to rest.
