Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
Gary was a rare native Atlantan, and proud graduate of Bass High School in 1962. In the
telecommunications industry starting with Western Electric, Mr. Allison had retired from Lucent
Technology in 2002. He attended Woodstock First Baptist Church and was an avid golfer,
corvette enthusiast, and comical storyteller.
He was preceded in death by his mother , Elizabeth of Atlanta and father, Barney of Daytona
Beach. Survivors include his sons – Jimmy (Cheryl) Allison of Atlanta and Damon (Billie)
Allison of Chattanooga; sisters – Sharon Stovall of Houston, TX and Joni Clark of Acworth; six
grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 4, from 7-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of
flowers please consider a donation to Dunwoody Baptist Church and designate Fellowship of
Christian Athletes.
