Gary Lee Cargle was born June 14, 1952 in Rome, GA. He had two brothers James and Arlen, both deceased. His mother, Margie Thompson (now deceased) gave him a sister, Denise Thompson. His father Edward Cargle gave him brothers Lloyd, Dale and Ricky (now deceased) and sisters Teresa (now deceased) and Regina. He had one particular cousin, Terry Owens (Charlotte) who was raised like a brother.
Gary had two daughters Brittney Ingram (Richard) and Chanda Johnson (Josh). He had four grandchildren Kyle Gayler, Angela Gayler, Arron Ganues and Tiffany Dabbs. He had two great grandchildren Autumn Rain and Iris Marie.
Gary loved his family very much and spent as much time with them as possible. Even after he moved to Foley, AL he kept in touch with many telephone calls and frequent visits.
Gary worked for Georgia Power at Plant Bowen in Catersville, GA for over 28 years.
Gary married Mildred Kathleen “Katie” Mason June 23, 1990. They had twenty-seven wonderful years together.
Gary loved to dance, hunt and fish. He had an Elvis sounding singing voice and he loved singing karaoke. He became a Georgia Bulldogs football fan when he married Katie. He enjoyed his unique three wheeler trike and his Harley Davidson motorcycles. His favorite motorcycle rides were the “Trail of Tears” ride across north AL and the “March of Dimes” ride at the Talladega Speed Way, where he got to ride on the speedway.
Gary was raised in the Baptist church, but joined the Foley United Methodist Church with Katie when the moved to Foley.
