

Glenn Warren Mitchell, Jr., 67, of Kennesaw, died Monday, April 4, 2016. Funeral service is Thursday, 11am at Summit Baptist Church in Acworth with Mr. Mitchell lying in state beginning at 10 am. Pastors Scott Miller and Lee Gambrell are officiating and burial will follow the service at Pineridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.
A Georgia native, Mr. Mitchell spent his career in and around Atlanta with D-H Supply, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Brown & Lucas and Graybar. He was an avid Braves fan and his love for sports led him to participate with the Georgia High School Football Association as a referee. Glenn could be found on fall Friday nights calling High School games all around the state, something he really enjoyed. In his spare time he loved to fish and enjoyed rock and roll music, especially the Beatles. Glenn was an active member of Summit Baptist Church.
Glenn is survived by his wife – Cathi Mitchell of Kennesaw, son – Glenn Mitchell, III and wife Jennifer of Atlanta, daughter – Kim Hagan and husband Rob of Franklin, TN, mother – Ann Mitchell of Austell, sisters – Janet Whittemore and husband Tom of Mauldin, SC, Lois Mitchell of Austell, six grandchildren – Libby, Mac & Kate Mitchell, Ellie, Aubrey & Henry Hagan. Also surviving are stepdaughter – Tiffany Drummond, stepsons – Brent and wife Liz Jacobs, Zane and wife Jennifer Jacobs, step-grandchildren – Max Jacobs, Travis and Everlie Drummond.
