Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Following his military service, he devoted 38 years of dedicated employment to Lockheed Martin, where he worked as an Advanced Material Checker until his retirement.
He married his best friend and the love of his life, Mary Diane Rogers Slaton, and together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Their loving union was blessed with two sons, Chris and Greg, and later expanded through the adoption of their granddaughter, Brianna.
A man of many interests, Glenn enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a devoted member of the Kennesaw Bushwhackers Hunting Club for more than 50 years. He was an avid sports fan, faithfully cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Glenn also found joy in tending to his garden, visiting flea markets, riding his ATVs, working crossword puzzles, and vacationing with his family at Panama City Beach and Pigeon Forge. Some of his most cherished memories were trips to Disneyland and Washington. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and his faithful beagle, Scooter.
Glenn held his Baptist faith close to his heart throughout his life. Glenn will be remembered as a loving, patient, kind, quiet, and giving man whose presence brought comfort to those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Diane Slaton; his sons, Chris Slaton (Amber) and Greg Slaton (Jennifer); his daughter and granddaughter, Brianna Slaton Peykoff (Reid); his grandchildren, Laci Googe (Carson), Skiler Cody (Jacob), and Kaiden Slaton; his great-grandchild, Wrenly Mae Cody; two nieces; one nephew; and his brother-in-law, Wayne Garrett. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
A visitation will be held on January 11, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152.
