Harold England Owenby

They lived in the Due West Community and attended Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Harold met the love of his life,

Brenda Abernathy, at Mt. Olivet. Brenda and Harold were married at Mt. Olivet on September 23 1961.

They were members of the church and Harold taught Sunday School through the years from the Youth to the

Senior Adults. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, and was the Church Clerk for 63 years,

resigning from the position in 2023 due to health issues. Harold's beautiful voice also made him a Choir Director

and a soloist at many special occasions throughout the years.

Harold was a Good and Faithful Servant until God called him home, Monday, October 28, 2024.

Harold graduated from McEachern High School in 1958. He worked in sales until 1965 and then became a Mail Carrier for the Marietta Post Office. He was very active in the Letter Carrier Union holding several elected offices. He retired from the Post Office in1997, after 32 years of service.

Harold was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was always supportive of his family with love and guidance.

Harold is survived by his wife of 63 years, Brenda A. Owenby. His sister, Joyce Owens(Omar) of Gainesville, sisters-in-law Mary Jo Walker, Beverly Lee (Earl), Becky Michael (Vince), Lynn Owenby, nieces, Mary Muller(David), Kathy Godfrey(Rick), Nephews, Joey Walker(Suzanna), Joshua Michael(Rachel), Jonathan Michael(Linette), Jacob Michael(Bri), Brandon Owenby

(Ashley) and Nathan Owenby. Nine great-nieces, four great-nephews and one great-great-nephew,

Harold was predeceased by his younger Brother, Charles W. Owenby.

The Family will receive guest on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Winkenhofer Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He will be lying in state from 1:00 p.m.

until Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park, Marietta, Georgia. Service officiated by

Rev. Michael Smith.

Serving as pallbearers are David Muller, Joey Walker, Joshua Michael, Jonathan Michael, Brandon Owenby and Nathan Owenby.
