Our beloved husband, father and grandfather Iraj Sohrab passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of April 29, 2021 in Marietta, GA. Iraj was born January 22, 1932 in Isfahan, Iran. He was the son of the late Hedayat'ullah Sohrab and Nur'ul-Hajieh Nuri.
Iraj started his professional career with the US State Department in 1950 and spent 28 years working for the US embassy in Tehran, Iran. After the 1979 revolution in Iran, he made the decision to move his family to the United States. He then worked in the banking industry for 18 years before retiring in Marietta, GA.
Iraj loved his family and always welcomed everyone with a wonderful smile. He met his wife (Rohan Sohrab) at a Baha’i gathering in Tehran and they were married for nearly 60 years. He enjoyed every moment that he spent with his grandchildren, Kasra (Alex) Sohrab and Lindsey Riley. He loved playing cards, watching tennis matches on TV, and spending time in his garden. As a family, we consider him the most honest, peaceful and generous individual anyone could have ever met.
Iraj is survived by his wife Rohan Rohani Sohrab, his daughter Nicki Sohrab Riley (Daniel), son Nader Sohrab (Mojgan) and two grandchildren Alex Sohrab and Lindsey Riley.
RIP Baba joon.
