Jim was born in Munich, Germany on January 1, 1961 to Jack and Mary Anderson. The family was stationed there for two years and then moved back to the United States to Leavenworth Kansas. Jim led a life guided by God and was very strong in his faith which led him to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1983, he married Krista McKinney and remained married for the next 28 years.
As a result of his own life experiences, Jim participated for over 8 years, leading music and attending Celebrate Recovery groups. He remained very active within his church, using his musical talents and contributing in the church bands at Liberty Church, Crossview Church, Vineyard church, and others. Throughout his life, Jim always excelled with programming and databases. He worked for Bell South Mobility and stayed through the transition of Cingular wireless to AT&T, over a span of 22 years.
Jim was always a warm and friendly man who made a point to get to know everyone he met. He had a knack of remembering peoples names long after he met them. He had great work ethic which made him an excellent provider for his family. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending quality time with them. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing any stringed instrument. Music was important to him; he could pick up a guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, or banjo and play. He also enjoyed relaxing in nature, whether it was hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail or camping in the woods.
