James Harold Cantrell, Sr., age 84, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025. He was born on July 1, 1941, in Ellijay, Georgia, to his beloved parents Roy and Emma Cantrell.
James was a man who cherished life’s simple joys. He found peace in fishing and spent many hours enjoying classic westerns on television. Above all, he treasured his family, embracing his roles as a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Judy Cantrell, and his grandson Cody Cantrell.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, carried on by his sons James Harold Cantrell, Jr. (Cathy) and Jeff Cantrell (Jeanne), grandson Garrett Cantrell, great-grandson Cooper Cantrell, and his sister Ruth Cantrell.
A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw, Georgia.
James will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
