Jeraldine Burroughs Wright passed away on March 29, 2023, at the age of 94. Jerri was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Jerri was born to John and Edna Burroughs on November 11, 1928, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was married to the love of her life, Carl, and together they raised two children, Stephen and Judy. She is survived by her son Stephen C. Wright, Jr. (Diane); her daughter Judy Collier (Bruce); her grandchildren Johnny, Jennifer, Clay, Brian, Deanna, and Carla; and her numerous great-grandchildren. Jerri was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Carl Wright, Sr., her parents, and her six siblings.
Jerri enjoyed her career in the dental field as a hygienist and was a member of the Lost Mountain Baptist Church for many years. Her faith and trust in Christ was near and dear to her heart. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, cherishing every moment spent with them. She had a fun-loving sense of humor, enjoyed playing board games, working cross-word puzzles, and reminiscing about life. Jerri didn’t mind expressing her opinion about politics and was known to be sassy! Of course, this was done in a loving, light-hearted manner. She was meticulous about keeping her home clean and tidy, constantly cleaning, dusting, and vacuuming. Jerri loved the outdoors, enjoying what God had created. Her adoration for nature led to her love of camping, hiking, and trips to the mountains, which brought her great joy. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jerri will cherish the memories they shared with her.
A visitation for Jerri will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, located at 2950 North Cobb Pkwy in Kennesaw, Georgia. Following the visitation, a chapel service will be held at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in Rolling Hills Memory Gardens, located at 4355 GA-92 in Acworth, GA.
Jeraldine will be dearly missed, but her memory will live through her family and friends.
