

Senior Master Sergeant Jerry "Kris" Patterson of Marietta, Georgia, passed from his earthy place to his eternal home with his Savior on October 17, 2024, at the age of 76. Throughout his life, SMSgt Patterson was a devoted, loving husband, father, and PopPops. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring at 39 years old. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked at Equifax and ended his career at Nexus Lexus in 2010.
Aside from his military career, he was a lover of history, computers. and the sound ministry at various churches. SMSgt Patterson was a servant leader, putting his heart in his church which currently was Wildwood Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia.
Having lived in numerous places throughout the United States, the Pattersons were blessed to serve the Lord in every location. Forever friends were made in every location. He loved being “PopPops” to his grandchildren, and they loved him as well.
He and his wife were blessed to be able to travel the last years of his life, traveling around the United States and several countries. He loved to travel and even though it became very difficult for him to navigate, he still pressed on. Their favorite place to visit was Hawaii and they loved cruising and meeting new friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Sarah Kathryn Overton and Dennis F. Patterson.
SMSgt Patterson is survived by his wife of 52 years, LaSydia Patterson; sons Brian Patterson (Lee Ann) and Kevin Patterson (Mariah); sister, Lynette Holder (Larry); brothers Lynn Patterson (Peggy) and Clay Patterson. He had 9 grandchildren: Ariel, Bailey, Brooklyn, Benson, Rachael, Coleman, Brian Jr., Mason, and Caitlin; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
SMSgt Patterson’s family will receive visitors on October 24, 2024, at Winkenhofer Funeral Home and Pine Ridge Memorial Park at 6:30 p.m.
A chapel service will take place on October 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Winkenhofer Funeral Home chapel.
SMSgt Patterson’s final resting place will be in Pine Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Harvest Offering at Wildwood Baptist Church.
