J.M. Pitner, Jr., 87, of Acworth, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March, 19, 2011 at Acworth United Methodist Church beginning at 1pm with Dr. Jim Lowry, Revs. Brian Butler and Newt Hendrix officiating. He will lie in state from 12pm to 1pm at the Church. Born and raised in Acworth, Mr. Pitner was a Navy veteran and a long time member of Acworth United Methodist Church. He also had retired from Lockheed. Mr. Pitner is survived by his son, Jim and wife Susan Pitner of Acworth; daughter, Sally and husband Clark Johnson of Kennesaw; Grandchildren Katie and husband Drew Chrisohon, Ginny Pitner, James Pitner, Jr. and wife Brittany and Kim Johnson; Great Grandchildren Eli Chrisohon, Hartley Mae Chrisohon and due this spring Jackson Spears and Berkleigh Pitner. The family will receive friends Friday from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw.
