On January 24, 1957, Joyce married the love of her life, Jimmy Harold Marquis Sr. and had 3 children together. Mrs. Marquis dedicated her time to her family as an exceptional and dedicated mother and wife. Joyce also dedicated her time to serving The Lord. She was A member of Powers Ferry Church of Christ and was very passionate about her faith. She was truly a student of The Word of God and lived her life for Christ. Joyce was a talented artist who enjoyed oil painting and was recognized as a culinary artist in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Simply stated, Joyce was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person with a contagious smile, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Joyce leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
Joyce will be reunited with her parents, Louis and Portia Parker and brother, Bill Parker. She leaves to cherish in her memory, husband, Jimmy Marquis Sr., son, Jimmy Marquis Jr. and his wife Janet; daughters, Robin Hawk and her husband Larry, Tammy Marquis; brothers, Louis Parker and his wife Judy, Mark Parker and his wife Mary; sister, Patsy Florence and her husband Curtis; sister-in-law, Jane Parker; grandchildren, Jacob Hawk and his wife Savanna, Jimmy Marquis III and his wife Angela, Hilary Hawk, Bryant Marquis and his wife Kathryn, Katie Richardson and her husband, Trey; great grandchildren, Sarah Grace Marquis, Emma Marquis, Scarlett Hawk; and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Joyce Marquis will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 1PM to 3PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor the life of Joyce will be held in the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home at 3PM, immediately following the visitation. Joyce will go to her final resting place at Georgia National Cemetery on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 9:00 AM.
