

Lynda Parker Goodman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 14, 2025. She was born on April 11, 1943, in Griffin, Georgia, to the late Lyman and Sara Parker.
Lynda spent her early years in East Atlanta, where she attended East Atlanta High School. She later moved to Decatur and graduated from Druid Hills High School. Lynda will be remembered for her deep love for family, her kind heart, and the warmth she brought into every room she entered.
Lynda is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Jerry E. Goodman; her sons, Terry L. Viness (Rhonda), D. Scott Viness (Joy), and Jason S. Goodman (Jennifer). She was loved and affectionately known as “Goodyma” to her grandchildren, Morgan Jordan (Alex), Jacob Viness, Bo Viness (Stephanie), Brock Viness (Rebecca), Andrew Goodman, and Emily Goodman; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Clara Jordan, Jack Jordan, Greyson Viness, Blakely Viness, and Charlotte Viness.
She also leaves behind her brother, William R. Parker (Deborah) of Ocala, Florida, along with several nieces and nephews.
Lynda worked for Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies, retiring in 1999 after 34 years of service. She and Jerry moved to Ocala, Florida following her retirement, where they lived for 15 years. There, she enjoyed sharing her talents as a decorative artist. She was a member of the Marion County Corvette Club of Ocala Florida and the Classic Glass Corvette Club of Marietta, Georgia. She was also a member of Acworth United Methodist Church in Acworth, Georgia.
Lynda's legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the memories she helped create. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
