It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Marlene, who left us peacefully on November 25, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. At 91, she was the cornerstone of our family, a guiding light, and a source of unwavering love.
Marlene was more than a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she was the heart of our family. Her warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched everyone who was blessed to know her. Whether it was through her lovingly prepared meals, her endless patience, or the stories she told with a twinkle in her eye, she created memories that will be cherished for generations.
Born on June 4th, 1933, in McCaysville, Georgia, Marlene grew up with a spirit of resilience and compassion that she carried throughout her life. She was devoted to her family, her faith, and her community, always finding ways to bring people together. She leaves behind a legacy of love that we will strive to honor every day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Phillips. Marlene is survived by her four children: Peggy Butler (David), Larry Phillips, Carol Bullard (Bradd), and Teresa Phillips.
