Mary Lee (Leonard) Barber

Mary was born on September 7, 1937, in Gordon County, Georgia, to the late Ada and Walter Leonard. She was married to the love of her life, Roger Bruce Barber, for nearly 63 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love, and were blessed with three sons.

Mary was strong in her faith and a devoted member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church. She had a deep love for travel and was fortunate to visit five of the seven continents. Some of the highlights of her travels with Roger included the Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Giza, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Despite her many adventures, Mary’s favorite place was always home, surrounded by her family.

She enjoyed dancing, traveling, crafting, and spending time with those she loved most. Mary cherished her family deeply and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Bruce Barber, and an infant daughter.

She is survived by her three sons, Bruce Barber (Melane), Greg Barber (Lynn), and Chris Barber (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Jacob Barber, Amy Barber, Ben Barber, Emmie Barber, and Jeremy Barber; her siblings, Kenneth Leonard, Kathryn Mitchell, and Ronald Leonard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary will have a committal service at Georgia National Cemetery on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Roger. Following the committal service a Visitation for family and friends to gather will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life service in the Chapel at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge beginning at 2:00 PM.
