

Tennessee and entered the University of Tennessee as an Engineering major before World War II
He left college to volunteer for service in the Army Air Corp in September 1942. He served as
a Tail Gunner on a B-24 with the 485th Bomb Group. Mr. Grubb completed 50 missions and
received numerous decorations including the Distinguished Flying Cross and three Air Medals.
His war time love letters worked.. Following the war he returned to Knoxville to marry Beverly,
to begin a 67 year journey of true love. In 1951 he relocated his growing family to Marietta for employment at Lockheed. It was a perfect move. Soon he was selling insurance and Real Estate. He then formed Brown-Grubb Realty, which he headed for 25 years and remained a licensed Broker for over 50 years. He was dynamically involved in the growth and development of
East Cobb.
During those years he was very active in the community, including the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, and the Cobb County School System. He also served as President of the Cobb County Board of Realtors. He remained an honorary member of Kennesaw Masonic Lodge 33
Mr. Grubb was a committed follower of Christ and a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church, participating in the men’s Sunday School Class, Doers of the Word.
Later, he ventured into commercial sales and personal investment and owned and operated several motels in the southeast.
Paul represented the “Greatest Generation” to the fullest, committed to God, Family, Community and Country. He never met a stranger and had a kind word for all. Part of his legacy is his gifted, inspiring poetry, that he would often scribble on scraps of paper.
In his later years he and his wife Beverly enjoyed their mountain home in Boone, North Carolina
and also traveled extensively.
In his final days, as in life, he was surrounded by his loving family and friends who appreciate and celebrate his Wonderful Life.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Matthews Grubb of Kennesaw; one son Richard Grubb and wife Mary of Marietta; and two daughters; Janet Brown and husband James of Roswell and Olive Childers and husband Jim of Kennesaw; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Grubb will be held on Saturday, December 24, at 11am from the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Chaplain Bill Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park. The Family will receive Friends Friday, December 23 from 6pm-8pm at the Funeral Home.
