Aunt Jo and Uncle Ray were not blood relatives but they were like my second parents. They watched over me after my father died during my grandfather's illness from leukemia. Uncle Ray was the man in my family for many years. They took me to Florida every year (my Mom didn't like the beach and I loved it). They were there for every birthday and Christmas, more like family than most real aunts and uncles. I will miss his hugs most of all. He was a truly good and loving man and I was so lucky to have known him.

Every memory I have of Uncle Ray is sweet. My favorite, though, is a couple of years ago when he came to our house with Mike and Margo Curry. He told such sweet stories of his love for Aunt Jo, and he sat and held the little baby girl that was staying with us at the time. She was smitten with him. Uncle Ray, I'm glad your passage was peaceful. Take your rest. Those of us left behind will go on missing you.

Ray was a wonderful man. From the moment, Cary brought me home to meet him, he welcomed me as a daughter. I cannot express how much he did for us, always pitching in to help Cary with his major home improvement projects. When Cary died, Ray came up to me at the funeral home and said don't ever leave me. I looked at him and said, why would I? You are the only man I have left. Ray always had a hug when you came in the door and a kiss before you left. Sweet loving man, you will be missed.

Uncle Ray will be missed greatly; he was a great storyteller and my family loved him dearly.  Heaven is a little brighter today with him there.

I Loved Uncle Ray, He was always so positive and he loved his family. When I was a little boy he spent a lot of time with me and he loved to kid around with me. I'll never forget his favorite thing was he would make a square with his fingers and say do you know what it feels like when a Crow bites your finger? I would say know what does it feel like? He would tell me to stick my finger in the square of his fingers and use his thumb to pinch my finger. He would laugh as I laughed too and he would say that was a Crow biting you. I loved it because he loved to hold me and hug me, He always made me feel special. He still did even when I grew older. Ray loved to come and visit my father Carl Plunkett, When they were together they where like two little brothers together again. I loved to listen to their stories about when they were growing up. Their hunting stories there working stories all where to me very interesting. Ray was like a Ray of Sunshine, He always had a big smile on his face. Rest in Peace Uncle Ray I Love you very much! You will be truly missed My Uncle Ray.

We brought Ray to our home in Loganville, Ga. a couple of years ago to have Thanksgiving dinner and we had Elia Fuller there. We all had a nice chat. Ray was one of Phyllis`s favorite uncles and we always enjoyed seeing him and of course Jo. He will be missed. He was one of the greatest generations serving our country proudly during World War Two.

Uncle Ray was always a loving, positive person whenever I saw him.  He was  my favorite uncle because he was so much like my dad, Carl Plunkett.  I enjoyed hearing about his adventures as a child growing up with 10 siblings.  Ray loved his family more than anything.  Many, many thanks to Cathy and his granddaughters for taking such good care of him in his later years.  May all of you be blessed beyond measure.
