Deacon Dick was born in Auburn, NY and moved to Kennesaw, Georgia with his wife
and family in 1986. Deacon Dick was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman
Catholic Church since its inception; he was one of the founding members of the
Knights of Columbus Order at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. His faith
and dedication to serve others led him to become an ordained Deacon in 2001. Being
a true empathetic person Deacon Dick was always looking for ways to serve God's
people. Most recently he was the Chaplain for the church's senior and pre-school
devotions. Deacon Dick held the 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He was a
true community servant, volunteering as often as he could and also touched many
lives as Chaplain for the Kennesaw Police Department and WellStar Kennestone
Hospital. After retiring Deacon Dick enjoyed working part time at Publix Supermarket
where he loved meeting and ministering to the patrons and employees. Most of all
he enjoyed spending time spending time with family and friends and it gave him great
pleasure preparing the meal at family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his
wife Norma Jo "Penny" Meadows Conti.
Deacon Conti is survived by his mother Angie Conti of Cortland, NY; four sons,
Tony Conti of Virginia Beach, VA; Mike Conti of Acworth, GA; Chris
Conti of Woodstock, GA, and Scott Conti of Acworth, GA; three
sisters, Ann Sawyer of Kennebunk, Maine, Joan Viscardi of Brockport, NY, and
Pamela Platt of Cortland, NY; one sister-in-law Deloris Allen of Hinton, WV; ten
grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 4pm until 9pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday,
March 5, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 1618 Ben King Road
NW Kennesaw, GA 30144.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Catherine of
Siena Roman Catholic Church with Fr. John Matejek officiating. Interment will follow at
Georgia National Cemetery.
A reception to celebrate Deacon Dick's life will be held immediately following the burial
at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 490 Arnold Mill Road,
Woodstock, GA 30188.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St.
Catherine of Siena Catholic Church located at 1618 Ben King Road NW Kennesaw,
GA 30144.
