Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church, 5145 Due West Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127 for Ken Long who went to be with Jesus on September 1.
Ken was a fierce protector and provider of his family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Memphis Firefighters Foundation to honor is two older boys Adam and Austin who serve as EMTs/Firefighters for Memphis Fire Department or a gift to Burnt Hickory Baptist Church Radiate Ministry to honor his two younger sons Rhett and Roman. Friends have also set up a fund to help with future college expenses for Rhett and Roman at https://gofund.me/b115a3e9.
Ken was a general class ham radio operator, an avid gun and knife enthusiast and hands down the best trivia pursuit player on the planet. He loved to spend time with his family, golf, work in the yard and learn about anything. He was a self-taught expert with Excel and SQL. A heart transplant recipient of 25 years, Ken loved much and laughed often, never taking his second chance for granted.
He is survived by his wife Kathy; four sons, Adam, Austin, Rhett and Roman; sister Robin Carver; and father Larry Long and a cabinet full of his homemade blackberry jelly and "liquid gold" honeysuckle jelly.
