Segundo “Gunding” Daroy Gamolo, son of Adriano Gamolo and Tecla Daroy, youngest brother to Consolador, Norberto and Pedro Gamolo, was born 29 July 1932 in the province of Mindanao, Philippines. He graduated college with bachelor's degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
Gunding was wedded to Isabelita Loquias in 1966 and lived in Manila, Philippines. The couple had six children together, but two, Jose and Junior, has long passed on. His family of six migrated to New Jersey in 1990 and by 2012, he and his family eventually resided in various cities around Metro Atlanta.
Known to his church as “Papa Gunding”, he was a devout Christian and was a member of the Jesus The Redeemer church in Kennesaw, GA.
Gunding passed away on 26 October 2018 outside Atlanta, Georgia. He was surrounded by his family and left behind his wife of 52 years, Isabelita, daughter Garland and son-in-law Raymon, son Geffrey, son Glenn and daughter-in-law Iryn, daughter Gellian and son-in-law Gerard, and grandchildren Ysabel, Gabrielle, and Giselle. He also left behind a daughter in the Philippines, Thelma and her family.
Segundo “Gunding” was a gift from God, a true treasure of a man, and he will be truly missed by his family and friends.
