Thomas Lee Matthews

Thomas Lee Matthews, age 68, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. He was born to John and Marion Matthews in Jacksonville Florida on February 21, 1954. Thomas was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He served his country in the United States Navy, was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Thomas will be loved and missed by all that knew him.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Debbie Spears Matthews; his daughters, Natalie Hazen (Brock), Stephanie Sedam (Andy); his son Jason Messer (Nieve); his brother Jack Matthews (Detra), his sisters, Donna Matthews-Spradley (Royce), Mary Steinbrunner (Mike) and Carol Wyatt (Nick); his grandchildren, Katelynn Hazen, Andrew Hazen, Selden Hazen, Lydia Hazen, Jay Sedam, Lincoln Sedam, Opal Messer, Knox Messer and his great grandchild Scarlett Irvin, his mother-in-law, Joan Felthouse Spears along with several nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father John Marvin Matthews and his mother Marion Ethel Vorhis; his brother Bob Matthews; his son Kevin, and his granddaughter Aria.

A memorial mass will be held on November 28, 2022, at 1:00 pm at St. Clare's Catholic Church. A committal service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, OH, 45249.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Knights of Columbus Council 15996 or St. Clare's Church.
