Tracy Scott Roberts

Mr. Tracy Scott ‘Goppy’ Roberts, age 54, of Acworth, GA., passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Scott was born on November 1, 1963, in Anniston, Alabama, a son to Mr. Tony Roberts and Mrs. Virginia Morris.

Scott spent most of his younger years in Piedmont and eventually enlisted in the United States Army to bravely serve our country. He eventually made his way to Georgia in the late 80’s where he would begin his career as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member with the Local 926 International Union of Operating Engineers; he was also a Mason and Shriner. Scott was the life of the party, never meeting a stranger, and always making everyone smile. His family was everything to him, especially his children and grandchildren who gave him his favorite title, Goppy. Scott loved cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide and working in his yard. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He always said he had the most beautiful wife.

Along with his parents Scott is survived by his wife of thirty years, Mrs. Emilie Roberts; two sons, Joshua of Atlanta, GA., and Daniel (Kiera) of Dallas, GA; three siblings, Rhonda (Alan) Benefield of Centre, AL., Brian (Leigh Anne) Roberts of Tuscumbia, AL., and Tony (Malana) Roberts Jr. of Jasper, AL; five grandchildren, Haley, Hannah, Mya, Joshua Jr. and Jonathan; two great grandchildren, Elijah and Elliot; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Scott Roberts will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Garry Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until the time of service on Saturday, February 3, 2018.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family request donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
