

Walter "Wally" F. Johnson IV, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on October 11, 2012, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina on May 26, 1959, and was the son of Brigadier General Walter F. Johnson III and Doris Wright Johnson. Wally graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, and later attended Northern Virginia Community College. He was married to Debora M. Johnson on May 26, 1990, and had two children, Amber and Wally V, ages 19 and 17 respectively.
He served as the Regional Director of South West Coast of Florida Tires Plus and owner and manager of Eagle Tire Automotive. Wally had a passion for cars and was a member of the Peachstate Posse Corvette Club, participated in Chin Motorsports track events, and was a part of the Injected Engineering and Fast Lane Import Auto Repair Family. While he loved modifying his own cars, he was always ready to help others with any of their needs.
Over and above cars, Wally’s compassion and care for others was his most prominent character trait. Be it family, friends, or a stranger in need, he would take the time to help. Wally always had the ability to make everyone feel as if they were important, and he was a supportive and dedicated husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Roman Catholic Church and volunteered with Corvettes Against Breast Cancer, Mount Paran Christian School, and the WellStar Heart Walk.
He is survived by his wife, Debora; daughter, Amber; son, Wally V; parents, Walter F. Johnson, III and Doris W. Johnson; father-in-law, Gilbert D. Johnson; grandmother, Richardine Wright; siblings, RoxAnne Johnson-Jenifer, Rhoda A. Johnson, T. Fitz Johnson, Alexander J. Johnson, and Ian T. Johnson; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law and brother in-law.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Walter F. Johnson II and John A. Wright III, as well as his grandmother, Inez M. Johnson, and mother-in-law, Brenda Johnson.
A private family funeral will be held in Charleston, South Carolina. A memorial service for friends and loved ones will be held Friday at the Murry Arts Center on Mount Paran School Campus.
