Mr. William Larry McMichen, 60, of Kennesaw, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 11, 6 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Pastor Robert Ledbetter officiating.
Born in Cartersville Mr. McMichen had worked for Atlanta Gas Light for 36 years as a Corrosion Technician. A motorcycle enthusiast, Larry loved his Goldwing and rode every chance he had. He was a participant, and organizer, for any ride that helped children, especially the annual Pediatrics Brain Tumor Foundation Ride.
Those family members who survive to cherish his memory include his wife – Deborah McMichen of the home; sons – Doug McMichen and Chris McMichen; sister – Helen Parker; and 1 Grandson. His parents – Claude and Bonnie McMichen, and sister – Margie Millsapps, preceded Larry in death.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 4pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William Larry McMichen may be made to the Ride For Kids Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at pbtfus.org or PBTF, 302 Ridgefield Ct, Asheville, NC 28806.
