Mom was one of the sweetest most loving people ever. She loved being in the company of family and friends. She would hold your hand and treasure the warmth and if you were lucky enough to have this happen, you know she was reluctant to let go. Mom’s smile brightened any room she was in. She was often complimented on her gentle nature and kindness. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of reading, drawing, crosswords, gardening and daily journaling. Playing cards and word games was always fun with mom …if you liked to lose. Getting together at family gatherings and sharing laughs and stories was something mom always looked forward to.
Mom was born in Swift Current Saskatchewan where she met and then married dad in 1957. Dad would often say how beautiful and classy mom was. They made many moves before settling in Kenora on beautiful Lake of The Woods with their four children. Mom spent many happy times at their cottage on Pelican Pouch Lake with her in-laws Rose and John Hansen and families. She also travelled coast to coast across Canada with dad, taking in the beauty of our country. Mom’s work history included office jobs at Woodale Furniture, Land Titles and various retail positions.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Lake of The Woods District Hospital as well as everyone at Pinecrest for their love and care. Those who touched mom's life in a very special way will never be forgotten and your compassion and kindness means everything.
Mom you will be missed so very much but kept forever in our hearts.
We Love You.
