May 13, 1937 - August 6, 2026
Albert Rogers of Kenora passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 89.
He was a devoted brother to Lily Stiller (Brian) and Elsie Ross (Brian); father to the late Barry Rogers, Diane Rogers-Gingrich (Stephen), and Scott Rogers (Kristin); and grandfather to Maren Gingrich-Rodrigues (Shane), Ethan Gingrich, Gavin Gingrich, Noah Rogers, and Alexa Rogers. He was a beloved cousin and uncle, and he leaves behind many friends who, over the years, became family.
Albert was a skilled Millwright and could always be counted on when something was in need of repair. He served as a volunteer firefighter for multiple decades and continued to actively serve until retiring at 85. He’s sang with the G-Clef Choir for more than 60 years, and was a lifelong member of Calvary Pentecostal Church.
But the most important thing about Albert was not what he did, but how he loved. He loved others sincerely, and he loved Jesus. His Christian faith was pivotal to who he was, and could be seen in the way he lived, served, and cared for others. When someone needed help, his response was immediate and without desire of recognition.
This remained true, even in his instructions regarding this eventual obituary. He was clear: “I don’t want a long drawn-out obituary. The individuals that knew me will know of the good I’ve done. Those that didn’t, won’t care.”
So in keeping with his wishes, we will keep it simple.
Albert was loved. He loved well. He served faithfully. He leaves behind may people who will miss him dearly, and many more who are better for having known him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Church on Friday, August 21st, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
