Aurele Grandbois

October 22, 1941 – December 13, 2020

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Aurel.

Born and raised in Pine Falls, MB, Aurel moved to Kenora in his teenage years and met the love of his life, Susan. After a brief courtship they were married in July 1961. They grew their family, dividing their time between the house on the Ritchie Road and the camp on Island Lake, which later became home.

Aurel worked his entire life in the logging, public and construction sectors, where he made many lifelong friends along the way.

When not working, Aurel spent his time with his family and friends in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. Aurel was always up for an adventure with Sue in tow.

Aurel was predeceased by his son Dennis, his parents Aurel and Gertie, and most recently his brother Norman.

He is survived by his wife Susan, children Michelle and Derek (Cheri), grandchildren Chris (Sam), Danielle, Bradley (Christina), Tiffani (Conor) and Matthew and great granddaughters Danica and Abigail.

The family would like to thank the first responders and staff at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
