December 14, 1942-April 15, 2026
It is with profound sadness we announce Carol Lynne Hall (nee Johnson) 83, passed away April 15, 2026 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
She is survived by her true love forever and always husband William (Bud) Hall, daughter and best friend Melanie (Brad) Alcock, and (extremely proud nana) grandsons William Alcock and Ryan Alcock.
Carol also leaves behind brother Brent (Doris) Johnson, sister-in-law Emmy Johnson, sister-in-law Shelley Dufault and sister-in-law Andrea Hall. Also feeling the loss are many nieces and nephews, Tara (Rob) Barber, Holly (Eric) Barber, Matthew Johnson, Jamie (Lisa) Dufault, Jana Dufault, Matthew (Dustie) Hall, Jason (Nadine) Hall and their families.
Carol was predeceased by her parents Frank and Marion Johnson, sister Susan Barber and brother-in-law Stuart Barber, brother Warren Johnson, mother-in-law Lila Edwards, brother-in-law Terry Hall and her best friend forever Shirley Nelson.
Carol was born in Dauphin Manitoba and raised in Kenora. Carol and Bud met, married and built a beautiful life together settling in Kenora. This fall they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage, “it’s the diamond year”, she told us, however Bud was her diamond.
Together with their daughter Melanie they built a beautiful dream home on Black Sturgeon. It was a slice of heaven. Carol loved lake life and the outdoors, camping, fishing, swimming and hunting. Carol was a wonderful hostess and opened up her home for many occasions and BBQs. Carol was a reader, crafter (knitting and sewing) and an avid gardener. There was no one with a greener thumb than Carol. If you needed to know anything about gardens, plants and flowers she was your go to!
She brought so much love to her family and support to anyone in need. She was a loving wife, dedicated mother and nana, supportive sister, caring aunt and a forever friend. Carol was so proud of her grandsons, watching them grow from babies, being part of all their achievements and to become amazing men. The love between the two boys and their nana was incredibly beautiful.
We will always know she will be watching over us, whether it is the whispers of wind on Black Sturgeon, or the warmth of the sunshine on our faces. Our memories will last to the end of time.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk with us every day.”

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be planned for summer 2026 at the family home on Black Sturgeon.
